Best posters on LNG

14 November 2014
12 various posters by Polish designers will promote the strategic project for Poland’s Energy security in a calendar issued by Polskie LNG, a company in charge of the construction and operation of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. The competition was organized in cooperation with Stowarzyszenie Twórców Grafiki Użytkowej (the Association of Applied Graphics Artists).

Almost 150 poster designs were submitted to the Competition Board. The total amount of contest prizes was PLN 10 thousand. The best poster – in the opinion of the Competition Board comprising the representatives of STGU and Polskie LNG – was a synthetic and minimalistic image of a methane carrier designed by Iwona Gabryś, a student of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maria Skłodowska Curie University in Lublin. Second prize was awarded to Atelier Szeski graphic design studio from Warsaw for an expressive black poster depicting the transmission of gas, whereas the third prize was granted to Katarzyna Zapart, a student from Kraków, for an interesting representation of natural gas liquefaction process.

Other posters presented in the calendar were submitted by Anna Chmielnik, Maciej Mraczek, Marta Stawarczyk, Jędrzej Chełmiński, Piotr Depta, Maciej Mytnik, Maciej Wolański, Dominik Kiepuszewski and Leszek Zebrowski

– The choice was not easy for the Competition Board, nor was the challenge simple for the designers. We are extremely delighted that it was possible to select posters representing different styles. The calendar promoting the major Polish project will be distributed to numerous recipients and thus advocating and supporting Polish design art, said Dawid Korzekwa, the president of STGU and a member of the Competition Board.
