Series of educational workshops on LNG

On Polskie LNG initiative, in six cities of Western Pomerania province, a series of workshops on LNG technology was carried out, aimed at the youngest residents of the region. 
The project comprises 6 all-day educational meetings featuring many sports activities for pre-school and elementary-school children.

The all-day educational meetings were attended by preschool children and youngest school pupils. In addition to classes focused on explaining the liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology, its use, transportation and storage, each meeting included some fun and sports activities.


First workshops were held in Kindergarten No. 22 in Koszalin for 130 children aged 3-7, on June 27, 2013. After a short warm-up exercise, ran by three professional Bałtyk Koszalin soccer players, children had the opportunity to learn ins and outs of LNG. They were demonstrated, among other things, what natural gas is, how it is mined, condensed, and how it will be delivered to Poland, what the LNG terminal is and how gas can be used and how it affects the environment.


Another workshops were held on July 25 in Kindergarten No. 8 in Kołobrzeg. It was attended by 140 children aged 3-7 from kindergartens No. 2, 7 and 8. The workshops finished with a sports performance by Kotwica Kołobrzeg soccer players who demonstrated a football match game.


The largest workshop was held on October 24 in the sports hall at the Municipal Secondary Schools Complex in Świnoujście. It was attended by approx. 400 children from six Świnoujście kindergartens. Special guests of the event were volleyball players from MMKS Maraton Świnoujście sports club.
